About Theme Park Trip

Last reviewed: 4 September 2026

Theme Park Trip is an independent guide to major theme parks and destination resorts, with a particular focus on new and developing projects in the United Kingdom.

We created the site because planning a future trip can be surprisingly difficult when confirmed facts, planning documents, press reports and online rumours all get mixed together. Our aim is to make that information easier to understand — and genuinely useful for people who may one day visit.

What we cover

Theme Park Trip follows major resort developments from their earliest planning stages through construction, opening and day-to-day operation. Our coverage includes:

  • opening dates and development timelines
  • locations, maps and transport
  • rides, attractions and entertainment
  • hotels, restaurants and the surrounding area
  • practical trip-planning advice
  • important project and construction updates

Our first major destination guide covers Universal United Kingdom Resort in Bedfordshire. As the site grows, we plan to cover other significant UK theme-park and visitor-attraction projects.

How we work

We try to make the status of information clear.

Confirmed information comes from an organisation responsible for the project or another authoritative primary source. Proposed information appears in plans or formal documents but may still change. Reported information comes from credible reporting that has not yet been confirmed by the organisation involved. Speculation is labelled as speculation, and when something is not known, we say so.

That does not mean every article has to sound like a planning inquiry. Theme parks should be exciting. We want our guides to be friendly, readable and useful while keeping a clear line between what is known and what people are hoping or guessing might happen.

Independence and funding

Theme Park Trip is independent. It is not owned, operated, authorised or endorsed by Universal Destinations & Experiences, Universal Studios, Comcast, NBCUniversal, Puy du Fou, or any other attraction, resort, studio, intellectual-property owner or organisation discussed on the site.

The site may earn money through advertising and affiliate links. If we receive a commission from a link, we will identify the commercial relationship clearly. Commercial arrangements do not determine our editorial conclusions.

Corrections and contact

Projects change, documents are updated and mistakes can happen. If you believe something is wrong or important context is missing, please use our Contact page. Our Corrections Policy explains how we review and amend published information.

We are building Theme Park Trip for real future visitors. Useful questions, corrections and suggestions are always welcome.
